A dearth of .Net jobs in Hawke's Bay

It would appear that most peeps around here have taken the easy way out and gone for VB .Net. Consequently I find myself thinking of the 'Queens of the Stone Age' song, 'No-One Knows' when mentioning what I do round this village.

What is so difficult about C# that these goobers wouldn't step outside their comfort zone and do a little bit of studying? I look at VB. Net and just shudder at the syntax.

I guess if you were faced with actual C most folks would bail, but it's really not that bad. All you have to do is remember what pointer goes where, and remember to clean up after yourself. Which is why obviously, I bypassed C++ .Net and went to C#. It's so much more forgiving.

I've tinkered with C and C++ obviously, fondly remembering my days at tech experimenting with inheritance, but really, unless I have a need for sheer unadulterated speed, am quite happy to cruise along very productively with C# - unless someone can show me something better, faster than a speeding bullet, stronger and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound.

Methinks I shall have to move if I want to persue my dream of fast cars, loose women and freely flowing champagne - no wait, that's one of my favourite nocturnal dreams.

Hm.
